What is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a product derived from cannabis. Discovered in 1940, CBD is a chemical compound found in the cannabis sativa plant, which is also known as marijuana or hemp. In recent years, CBD oil has become a popular dietary supplement that can help alleviate a broad range of physical and mental health problems.

Is CBD oil legal in the UK?

Yes. Despite the fact the vast majority of cannabinoids are listed as controlled substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, CBD is completely legal in the UK as long as it is derived from an EU-approved industrial hemp strain, or comes from outside the EU.

For CBD oil to be legal in the UK, it must contain no tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the psychoactive compound found in cannabis.

How does CBD make you feel?

CBD has no psychoactive properties but it may provide some pain relief to help you feel more comfortable and relaxed.

What are the benefits of CBD oil?

Clinical research on the effects of CBD oil was quite scarce until recent years. But while studies are still being conducted, there is already evidence to suggest that CBD oil can help reduce chronic pain, ease anxiety, manage movement disorders, reduce inflammation and even alleviate epilepsy symptoms in children.

How do I use CBD oil?

Each bottle of Dragonfly CBD oil comes with an easy-to-use pipette attached to the bottle cap. Simply dip the pipette into the bottle, fill it with the oil, and administer the oil under your tongue. Hold the oil under your tongue for two minutes before swallowing.

How long does CBD take to work?

Generally, you should begin to feel the effects of CBD within 15 minutes of applying the drops. However, if you don’t hold the oil under your tongue for the whole two minutes, it can take longer to take effect.

Does CBD oil have any side effects?

CBD is generally well-tolerated, but it can still cause side effects. These include:

• Dry mouth
• Diarrhoea
• Reduced appetite
• Drowsiness
• Fatigue

Can I take CBD oil with other medications?

Generally, CBD oil doesn’t tend to interact badly with other medications. However, CBD can increase the level in your blood of the blood thinner coumadin, which means you should use caution if you are already taking blood thinners. As with all other supplements, if you are taking medications already you should consult your doctor before using CBD oil.

Is Dragonfly CBD Oil a good alternative to CBD Brothers products?

Yes. CBD Brothers is a very popular brand of CBD oil, but Dragonfly products contain the same active ingredient with the same method of administration.

What are the differences between the Dragonfly options?

We stock three different Dragonfly products. The active ingredient is the same in all three – the only difference is the volume:

• 300mg – the smallest bottle, suitable for if you’ve not tried CBD oil before and want to give it a go
• 500mg – our mid-range bottle, for if you’ve used CBD oil before but only do so intermittently or as needed
• 1000mg – best for people who have taken CBD oil before and use it regularly as a supplement or to manage a medical condition

Can I vape CBD oil?

Not currently.

Dragonfly CBD Oil is designed to be administered orally via the pipette attached to the bottle cap, so it cannot be vaped. That said, droplets are still a highly effective and fast-acting way to administer CBD oil.
